In 2005, Te And’s Handicraft then known as Te And’s Needle Works started with needles and threads to produce cross-stitched items mounted on wooden frames which she exhibited at the local annual Agbiliwa Provincial Trade Fair.
Then in 2010, the firm shifted to fashion accessories and finally registered the firm as Te And’s Handicrafts. Two years after, the firm started producing handicrafts made from glass beads items like bracelets and necklaces.
Because of the proprietor’s regular participation in local, regional and national trade and selling fairs, she was encouraged with the possibilities of coconut shells as raw materials which are normally regarded as waste in the market. The owner first tried to produce coconut scratcher (pangkamot) as her first coconut-based product.
The Department of Trade and Industry then included her firm for product development and designs for coconut necklace and bracelets which she later focused on. She further ventured into other coconut-based table top items. The coconut shell vase designed by Te And’s Handicraft won as Best Innovative Product in the concluded Agbiliwa Provincial Trade Fair 2018. The firm continues to endeavor on how to further improve and develop their products.
Te And’s Handicrafts was privileged to upgrade its production process through DOST’s SETUP technology assistance program. DOST provided the firm with the following equipment: 2 units each of hand drills and bench grinder; 1 unit each of hand drill with coconut grater, drill press bench and drill press extreme 5 speed;

To improve finishing process of the coconut shell products, the firm was also provided with grinder, engraving pen, trimming, polishing and drilling tools.

Ms. Andrea Benoya is artistically inclined with the novelty items she has exhibited and sold in Provincial and Regional Trade Fairs. She continues to search for items from the internet where she can refer to for inspirations for her next products.
